Now, over the past week we’ve discussed what rope drop is, how to do it, and tips for each park (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot) and you might be wondering…why in the world would I want to wake up super early, rush to the parks, just to wait 1-1.5 hours for it to officially open?? Just hear me out! The way I see it, you’re going to wait in line at some point at Disney. You could wake up early, wait an hour or so for the park to open and then ride 2, 3, maybe even 4 rides with minimal wait times! OR you could show up to the parks later and wait an hour or more for almost Every. Single. Ride. When you rope drop you wait the hour (give or take a few minutes depending on when you get there) and then you can run amuck in a way less crowded park for a couple hours! When I rope drop, I may get as many rides knocked out in the first 2 hours as I get for the rest of the day. Seriously. Who doesn’t like to jump on rides with minimal wait times?! The shortest you’ll see all day (unless you ride during fireworks or an after hours event)! Plus, there is just something so majestic about a Disney theme park in the first morning light. So all in all, I love rope drop because I love:
- Shorter wait times
- The way the parks look as the sun comes up.
- The adrenaline rush that comes with racing to your first ride and being one of the first on!
- The empty(er) feel of the park in the morning.
- DISNEY PARKS! I want to maximize the amount of time I get to spend there!
Have you ever rope dropped? Are you thinking about doing it now? Or do you maybe think rope drop is for the birds?? Let me know in the comments!
